“Seven times fall down, eight times get up” is an old martial arts expression. And it’s appropriate for times when we experience bad luck (the Wheel reversed, shown here from the Samurai Tarot), whether our luck consists of falling down, losing a job, getting injured or falling sick, or running into one of a number of roadblocks that life excels in throwing at us. If bad luck comes along and knocks us down today, there’s only one thing to do: get back up and throw ourselves into life again with passion and enthusiasm (Ace of Wands).
Need a little motivation? I have the perfect theme song for this task: Diana Krall singing Nothing’s Impossible.
There’s another lesson here as well, and it’s that with time, the Wheel will be upright again — and we’ll have better luck.
Love the “nothing’s impossible” sentiment.

If you fall down seven times, getting up eight times is an out-of-body experience.
