I wasn’t happy to see the 3 of Swords appear when I pulled my cards this morning. Heartbreak? Nobody needs that today! But then I wondered what the Universe wanted us to know about heartbreak. Here is what I see in the Queen of Pentacles: everyone begins life with a mother, and everyone, no matter what the circumstances are, has some trustworthy, nurturing person to turn to in a time of heartbreak, even if that person is only a ghost or a goddess or Nature herself. Find that person. If the latter is true, and your heart is aching, surround yourself with green: go out into nature, or put green lush nature scenes on your screensaver if you are stuck inside next to a computer. Let nature heal you. (Green is the color of the heart chakra and can take the edge off the pain of an aching heart.) Or, think pink and turn to one of my favorite go-to remedies for heartache: rose quartz. Press a rose quartz crystal against your heart or hold it in your palm against the end of the heart meridian. Better yet, put one in each hand. Better yet, take your rose quartz crystals and go for a walk in the woods or along the beach. This, and time, will help. But I hope that no one reading this is going through heartbreak today, because, if your heart is aching, these few words seem like too little too late to help you feel better. Life goes on? This too shall pass? Yes, but heartbreak sucks. Treat this as a first aid situation and apply emotional first aid as needed — don’t try to get philosophical; just apply comfort — that’s the best advice I can come up with.
