We long so much for safety and security, and we just cannot always have it. That’s what it comes down to. At the same time, we don’t need security as much as we think we do. Note that the Five of Pentacles, a card of financial loss, and the Four of Wands, a card of celebration, look very similar in the Samurai Tarot. Two people out in nature. Whether they think they are poor or whether they think they have something to celebrate, they still look pretty much the same. The same two people out walking their path in life. Success is not particularly different from failure.
It’s not about whether we succeed or fail. It’s the path itself, and who we choose to walk it with.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
